COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
‘TIS THE SEASON TO SERVE
What: Pancake Brunch for the Homeless
When: Sunday, December 22 at 9 am
Where: SafeHouse Outreach, 89 Ellis Street NE, Atlanta, 30303
The staff at SafeHouse believe that homeless people have gotten very good at being invisible to us, and we’ve gotten very good at accepting their invisibility. To combat this, they practice what’s called THERAPEUTIC LISTENING. We need volunteers to sit down at the table with the homeless guests at the Pancake Brunch, ask them how they are, then stop talking and simply listen.
Pancake brunch is a tradition at SafeHouse. They like to limit the guests being served to 25 or 30 people.
Please use the quick rsvp to the right to let us know you plan on attending. We will be contacting you soon to get you signed up for one of the following:
- Shop for Food
- Cook Pancakes
- Serve Pancakes
- Therapeutic Listening
- Clean Up
