Sunday Suppers is a casual dinner where new ideas and stimulating conversation is the main fare. The guest speaker leads an informal discussion based on their work or a topic of interest. Attendance is limited so that the conversation is more personal and happens over the dinner table. Each attendee orders their own meal. Their biography will be circulated among membership, and reservations are open to alumni club members only on a first-come, first-served basis.

COST: $15.00 reserves your space at the table and contributes towards the speaker's meal. Each guest is responsible for his/her check. Reservations are open to alumni members (plus one guest) only on a first-come, first-served basis.

SPEAKER: Emily Pelton

peltonEmily Pelton is the Executive Director of Voices for Georgia’s Children, an organization dedicated to ensuring that children in Georgia are safe, educated, healthy, employable and connected to community.

Emily has worked in Georgia for 17 years.  Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Refugee Family Services for four years and helped bring about a merger that created the organization New American Pathways in 2014.  Previously Emily worked for the humanitarian organization CARE, where she held the positions of Director of Foundation Fundraising and Director of Policy Analysis.  

Earlier in her career, Emily served as an Analyst at the Office of Management and Budget, and as a Senior Policy Advisor to the President’s Science and Technology Policy Advisor.   Subsequently, she was the Government Relations Director for Case Western Reserve University and a Senior Analyst for the Washington, DC lobbying firm, Lewis Burke Associates.

Emily received her B.A., with a double major in Physics and Soviet Studies, from Cornell University and her M.P.A with an International Affairs concentration from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
