20th Annual Aids Walk Atlanta
Join the Harvard Club Walking Team
This year, the Harvard Club of Georgia will participate in AIDS Walk Atlanta on Sunday, October 17 in Piedmont Park. The AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run is a 5K (3.1 Mile) fundraiser that benefits thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS in the metro Atlanta area.
Your participation is greatly appreciated! This family-friendly event provides an opportunity to support critical programs for people living with HIV/AIDS and HIV/AIDS prevention programs.
You may participate through either the Walk or the 5k run. The registration fee for the Walk is $10 and the fee for the run is $25. Please note that all participants are strongly encouraged to donate beyond the registration fee.
We will be walking as a group in the walk activity of the event. Please note that we will not be meeting as a group for the 5k run. However, all donations and participation to either the walk or run will be credited to the Harvard Club of Georgia.
To find the Club on the day of the event, once you are in Piedmont Park, follow the signs to "Teams Land." Once you arrive, AIDS Walk staff will direct you to the Harvard Club of Georgia meeting area. To walk with the group, you must check-in before 1pm.
Club members are also encouraged to wear Harvard regalia at the event.
Due to traffic congestion in the Midtown neighborhood on the day of the event, all participants are strongly encouraged to take MARTA. Parking at the event will also be extremely limited, if not unavailable. The Park is a 5-10 minute walk from the Midtown MARTA station. Information on parking at MARTA stations is available at this web address: http://itsmarta.com/parking-information.aspx
For any questions, including questions on the day of the event, please contact Michael Handelman (contact information is below).
