ABOUT THE SHOW:

Zorro at the Alliance with an optional free Jaleos Dance Workshop that takes you from Flamenco's Gypsy roots all the way to the Gipsy Kings

From the old American West comes the legend of Zorro, a fighter of corruption and lover of beautiful women. When Don Diego comes home from Spain, he finds his father dead and his brother running Los Angeles...badly. Don Diego's foppish exterior hides the soul of a desert fox - Zorro! A deliciously fun extravaganza that conquered audiences throughout Europe and London's West End, this wonderful musical features songs by the Gipsy Kings in a new American adaptation.

Book by Stephen Clark and Helen Edmundson
Lyrics by Stephen Clark
Music by the Gipsy Kings and John Cameron

And....

Royce Mann, 11 (son of Barry Stewart Mann, '83), is playing Young Diego - the young Zorro.  This is Royce's seventh full production on the Alliance Mainstage - he has been in A Christmas Carol several times, and was featured in last year's Ghost Brothers of Darkland County.  With Zorro, Royce is thoroughly enjoying the Gipsy Kings' music, the flamenco dancing, and the chance to wield a sword.

BEFORE THE SHOW:

Optional Pre Show Jaleos Dance Workshop! Join us in the rehearsal hall on the 3rd floor beginning at 1:30pm-2:00pm for the workshop. Atlanta Flamenco Dancer Julie Baggenstoss will guide us and other audience members through a pre-Zorro workshop that takes you from Flamenco’s Gypsy roots all the way to the Gipsy Kings.  Self-affirming, passionate and expressive, find out how it feels to be a part of Pataita, and shout Jaleos to your friends!  Sweatpants and leotards are not needed for this fun, pre-show experience!
