Harvard Global Month of Service

Volunteer at the Global Soap Project
Public Service Committee 2013

In conjunction with Harvard's Global Month of Service, this year we will volunteer at the Global Soap Project (GSP) in Atlanta, GA. We will be making soap!

Founded in 2009, the Global Soap Project receives partially-used soap from over 1,100 hotels across North America, recycles it into new bars of soap, and distributes them to disaster victims, refugees, and children and mothers living in extreme poverty. To-date, GSP has sent recycled soap, along with hygiene education, to tens of thousands of people in 29 countries, and each week GSP produces 30,000 new bars of soap to go to people who need them most. Find more details at GSP’s website: http://www.globalsoap.org.

Date: Saturday, April 27, 2013 Time: 10am – 12pm

Location: Global Soap Project Warehouse
6899 Peachtree Industrial Blvd
Norcross, GA 30092
Warehouse Manager: Eric Guthrie 678-421-1681

The warehouse is in the building behind the office in building at 6901. Please follow these directions – From I-285 take the GA-141 North/Peachtree Industrial Blvd exit (it is between I-85 and GA-400). Stay on Peachtree Industrial Road for 3 miles, and then take the exit toward Jimmy Carter Road to get on the Peachtree Industrial Blvd Access Road going north. In about a quarter of a mile, you will come to the first light. Make a U-turn at this light (under the bridge, just before the intersection with Jimmy Carter Blvd) to travel south on the Peachtree Industrial Blvd Access Road. In just under a mile, you’ll pass an intersection with Green Pointe Parkway. Take the next street on right into the Gateway North warehouse complex where you can see the street number 6889. You will immediately see building in front of you on left side of street with address 6899. Go to the back of the complex to find building 6901. GSP is in Suite D.

If you reach Flanigan Village you have gone too far.
