Sunday Suppers are casual gatherings where new ideas and stimulating conversation are the main fare. The guest speaker leads an informal discussion based on their work or topic of interest. Reservations are open to current Harvard Club of Georgia members and Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta their guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance is limited to 12 people so that the conversation is more personal and happens around the dinner table. The dinners are Pot-luck, so please bring a dish that you can share.

Lt. Smith will host a potluck dinner at the Gwinnett County Police Training Center from 6pm to 9pm on Sunday, September 14, 2025. This event will feature a brief presentation about the department and followed by a walking tour of the campus (about 3/4 mile total). A potluck dinner and conversation will follow in the campus dining room.
Lt. Jake Smith has been an officer with the Gwinnett County Police Department for over twenty years. Throughout his career, he has worked in various facets of policing, including uniform patrol, criminal investigations, special investigations, media relations, and hostage and crisis negotiations. He has contributed to several committees and panels, addressing initiatives such as the implementation of body-worn cameras and the creation of a citizen review board. Jake is currently the deputy academy director for continuing education and chairman of the department’s policy committee. He has presented at several national conferences on crisis negotiations and media relations and is currently developing curriculums for leadership and management instruction. Jake attained his ALB from the Harvard Extension School and is currently enrolled in the Government ALM program. A native of northern New York, he currently resides in Lilburn, Georgia with his wife Tara.
